FAQs

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions varies depending on your goals and needs. Some clients find a few sessions helpful for specific issues, while others benefit from longer-term work. We will discuss this together during your initial consultation to determine the right approach for you.

What would sessions look like?

Our sessions are a safe and confidential space for you to speak freely about what you are experiencing. I hold space for both your inner world and the wider systems around you:- whether that’s culture, family, or even societal expectations. We can take our time by remaining curious, exploring gently, and trusting your emotional system to show us what is ready to be worked with.

3

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

Therapy offers a safe, confidential space to explore parts of your life that feel challenging or overwhelming. If you’re feeling stuck, dealing with life changes, or struggling with feelings like anxiety, sadness, or frustration, therapy can help. It gives you room to reflect on your emotions and find clarity, resilience, and a way forward.

4

What determines successful therapy?

The key to successful therapy is the connection between you and your therapist. When there is mutual trust and respect, and both of you feel comfortable communicating openly, therapy becomes a meaningful, transformative experience. The therapeutic relationship is a collaborative one, where both of us work together to support your growth and well-being.

5

How do you ensure confidentiality and data privacy?

Confidentiality is a core part of my practice. What you share in sessions stays private, except in cases where there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, or if legally required. Your data is stored securely in compliance with data protection laws, ensuring that your privacy is respected at all times.

What technology do I need for virtual sessions?

Online sessions are held securely via Zoom or Google Meet. Here are a few tips to ensure a smooth session:

  • Find a quiet, private space free from distractions.

  • Use a headset or headphones with a microphone for better sound quality.

  • Ensure a stable internet connection for a smooth 50-minute video call.

  • Close unnecessary programs and turn off notifications to avoid interruptions.

If you prefer to use a different platform, just let me know, and we can discuss what works best for you.

What should I do in an emergency situation?

If you’re in crisis or at risk of harm, please contact NHS 111 or call 999 in case of an immediate emergency. You can also reach out to Samaritans at 116 123 for confidential support anytime. Other helpful helplines include Mind’s Infoline(0300 123 3393) for mental health advice and the Shout Crisis Text Line (text SHOUT to 85258) for free, confidential support via text.

How would I know that we are a good fit?

Finding the right therapist is a personal process, and it’s completely normal to wonder if we’ll be a good fit. Therapy works best when there is a sense of trust, respect and collaboration, which is why I offer a free 15-minute consultation. This gives us a chance to connect, see how we feel working together, and answer any questions you may have. If it doesn’t feel quite right, that’s okay too! We can discuss ways to make it work or I can support you in finding someone whose style may suit you better.
